Three area schools administrators have been honored by the Illini Region of the Illinois Principals Association.
Mark Janesky, the Jamaica High School principal, was named Principal of the Year for the 2010-11 school year, and Darin Chambliss, a Danville High School assistant principal, was named Assistant Principal of the Year. And Ben Derges of Fisher Junior/Senior high School was named Dean of Students of the Year.
Established in 1971, the Illinois Principals Association is a leadership organization that provides professional development, networking, advocacy at state and federal levels, and advanced training to more than 4,500 educational leaders throughout the state. The Illini Region includes members in Champaign, Vermilion, Coles, Douglas and Edgar counties.
