A challenge for New Tech High

The announcement was good news for those of us who see good things in strong ties between the business community and the South Bend Community Schools.

On Wednesday, 1st Source Bank announced that it will give up to $200,000 for South Bend's New Tech High School.

The challenge grant means that for every $2 that community members pledge or donate by Nov. 30, 1st Source will give $1, potentially raising up to $600,000.

The announcement comes just a few weeks before the beginning of classes, which will be held inside Riley High School.
