CMS High School Prepares Schools for the 21st Century

New Technology High School is located on the Garinger campus. The school is one of 5 separate high schools that were built several years ago after Garinger High School found itself threatened with closure.

It operates as an independent school with its own principal, faculty, and staff. The maximum number of students is 400. Students benefit at this small school in so many ways. For starters, many students get lost in big schools which can lead to behavior problems. Secondly, teachers are able to work together more efficiently because they share the same students. Also, creating a positive culture of responsibility which leads to leadership skills is more attainable at New Technology.

New Technology High School at Garinger is a replica of the New Technology High School in Napa, California. Many consider New Technology an educational revolution. It is crucial for students to compete and be prepared for jobs in a technologically advanced society.

New Technology High School provides students with unique opportunities to gain knowledge and skills to succeed in the 21st century global economy. What makes New Technology different from other CMS high schools is that the focus is strictly on a computer oriented learning environment. It is non- traditional in a lot of ways. There is a computer for every student in every classroom. You will see students working in groups, deeply engaged in projects that incorporate multiple areas of learning. Classroom teachers help students become directors of their own learning.
