After a nationwide search, the Montebello Unified School District has hired a principal for its $30 million high school scheduled to open in September.
Patricia Luckeroth-Lockhart has been named to helm the Applied Technology Center, a school comprised of career academies.
"She is the right person for the job," said MUSD Deputy Superintendent Art Revueltas, who conducted the last interview with Luckeroth-Lockhart in the hiring process.
Late last year, he visited Antelope Valley High School, where she was the principal, to get better insight to the woman who would lead 300 ninth-graders in the school's inaugural school year.
"I saw that she has a great relationship with her students," Revueltas said. "She's the real deal."
