New Tech places fifth in national competition
Warren New Tech High School (WNTHS) students placed fifth out of 50 entries in a competition between New Tech schools across the country for the best school wide project for The Green Kingdom, an ecologically friendly theme park.
“It was our first attempt,” WNTHS Principal Iris Castellon-Dethmers said. “I am very proud.”
The competition was offered through the New Tech Network, a national nonprofit organization designed to work with schools, school districts and communities to develop innovative public high schools, in the category, the Student Voice.
The top five schools were invited to present their projects during the New Tech Network’s Annual Conference held last month in Grand Rapids, Mich.
