Clarendon School District 1’s Scott’s Branch High School is one of two schools in the state that will become a New Tech Network Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) School in the 2013-2014 school year.
STEM is an alternative teaching model that will change the school’s curriculum to focus on a project-based learning approach that will combine various subject areas. Teachers within these classrooms will take on more of a facilitator role. The program will be implemented with the entering freshman class the first year and within several years will transform to all grade levels, 9-12.
