Students face real-world challenges at new Kentwood Global Tech program

East Kentwood freshman Gabriella Mynda searched for a way to describe her school’s Global Tech program, a departure from traditional high school learning.

“It’s fun, but it’s hard fun,” she said, as classmates nodded in agreement.

Kentwood’s program is one of two in the region based on the New Tech Network’s philosophy of project-based learning, where students use multiple subjects as they create presentations, often working to solve problems suggested by local businesses and organizations.
