'Velt is a New Tech school

With 2009-10 results for Roosevelt High School’s graduation and dropout rates, scores in math and English displayed behind her on the auditorium screen, Gary School Supt. Myrtle Campbell described some successes at the school and steps the school will take to improve academic achievement starting in the 2011-12 year.

The screen showed dismal results. Roosevelt graduated 56% of its students compared to the state’s graduation rate of 84%. Graduation rate is determined by the number of students who came in as freshmen and were in the senior class 4 years later.
