School Profile:
Established in 1967, Nanakuli High and Intermediate School (NHIS) is the only school in the Leeward District with both an Intermediate and High School under one administration. Our campus sits on 60 acres of Hawaiian Home Lands in the heart of Nanakuli Valley. The school population is diverse; however it is predominantly made up of Hawaiian or Part-Hawaiian students.
NHIS will continue to use data to inform our decisions at the school level. We will focus on fostering positive and caring relationships, provide a rigorous curriculum and make learning relevant for all students. Based on the school motto, Kulia I Ka Nu’u ("we seek the highest"), we will continue to explore or provide an exciting and enriching learning environment that will prepare our students to be college and career ready for the 21st century.
