The River Rouge School District is a small southwest Wayne County inner city school district in close proximity to the city of Detroit. The River Rouge community is extremely diverse and shares a rich multicultural history. Of the students enrolled in the River Rouge School District, 71% are African American, 15% are Caucasian American, 14% are Hispanic and 1% other.

River Rouge Middle College High School Academy is located at 1460 W. Coolidge Hwy and is home to 489 students, 1 Principal, 19 instructional, and 10 non-instructional staff. All Teachers meet the highly qualified criteria.

In the fall of 2010 River Rouge New Tech High International Academy opened its doors to 300 freshman and sophomore students. Integrated Programs of study include: BioLit, American Studies, ChemTech, and Cultural Studies.
