School Profile: 

South Bend New Tech High School (SBNT) exists within the South Bend Community School Corporation (SBCSC) for the express purpose of providing students in grades 9-12 with a profound learning opportunity that encompasses all the skills required to be successful in their ever-changing and complex future. Students will be engaged through a project-based, experientially relevant environment that engenders a passion for exploration and discovery. Students will collaborate within student teams, think critically, problem solve, manage projects, utilize technology, and use verbal and written communication skills daily in a culture that values trust, respect, and responsibility. Admission to SBNT is available by lottery to all students in the SBCSC as they enter 9th grade, and students of all ability levels will benefit. South Bend New Tech will prepare students with the exceptional credentials, confidence, and skills needed for college, careers of tomorrow, and active citizenship.

Opening in August of 2011 with 100 freshmen and five facilitators, South Bend New Tech High School benefits from the active support the local business community, local institutions of higher education, and the City of South Bend. For 2011-12, SBNT will be housed in a modified wing on the 2nd floor of South Bend Riley High School. Plans are underway to re-located SBNT into its own facility in the future.
